This situation happened to me,all my business messages bounced back when I needed to send an important document to a client. When this situation occur, take a good look at the email and you will find the solution.

The bounced back message is something like:

 Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:    ABC

      Sent: 9/17/2009 10:20 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      'myname@myemail.com' on 9/17/2009 10:20 AM

            451 Blocked - see http://www.spamxyz.net/bl.shtml?111.66.66.77

If you emails are blocked by a spam blocker, there is usually a message. In my case, it was:

451 Blocked - see http://www.spamxyz.net/bl.shtml?111.66.66.77(spam blocker domain and IP address are for example only).

Spamxyz.net may block my email address by mistake. I decided to contact spamxyz.net to explain the situation and ask them to unblock my email address. So I visited www.spamxyz.net. It is an authorized spam blocking service.

Usually, this is all that is needed. However in this case, it is a little more complicated.

Spamxyz.net has a blocked list of IP address, so you can enter your IP address (stated in the bounced back email above) to see if you are blocked by Spamxyz.net or not. It is weird that my IP address, 111.66.66.77 did not appear in spamxyz.net blocked list. "118.66.66.77 was not listed in bl.spamxyz.net". However, my emails are still blocked and bounced back by spamxyz.net.

Worse, Spamxyz.net does not provide any phone, email address or contact form on their website. It is ok to block my email address by mistake, but I need to get it fixed. I need to be able to contact them to unblock my email address.

I contacted my web hosting company, where I hosted my email and website, to ask for support.  They said spamxyz.net is an independent spam blocking service so they cannot help unblock my email address. They can only help me search for Spamcop.net contact information. Luckily they were successful and sent the following link: http://www.spamxyz.net/fom-serve/cache/401.html.

At the very end of that specific Spamxyz.net page, below the long content and confusing links, there was a small box to type in the reason to contact Spamxyz. After going through all this process, the contact form I am looking for appeared.

I wrote a message to Spamxyz explaining the situation, and 2 hours later my email address works fine.

Spam blockers are very necessary in the Internet. They help prevent billion of spam messages from going to your Inbox. However, in some cases they can create email trouble. For non-technical people, if you have spam blocking issues, you should contact the spam blocker and your mail service provider, via phone, email, contact form, or live chat, and mention the issue clearly. You should be able to fix the issue quickly.
